Having been a horse feed patron of Turners Feed and Seed for years, we were quite surprised to find out that they did not have a website. As a firmly established family-owned business, they had let their website go because it was difficult to maintain.
Well known for selling horse feed and other agricultural products, Turners had a strong existing customer base but a competitor had just moved into town. We took the opportunity to showcase their business as “THE feed and seed store” and to cross-market their customers on all the other products they sell by category with lots of attractive images. We added a blog and a branded Facebook page, which enables them to connect more regularly with their customer base to easily promote seminars, specials and new product announcements. Building the web site in a content management system enabled Turners to maintain their own website as they wish.
